Bookings Co-ordinator – (£20,672 – £23,672 per annum FTE)

We are looking to replace our current Bookings Co-ordinator when she retires in 2022. We therefore have a vacancy and would consider both full and part time applications with successful applicants starting in January 2022. The successful candidate will work alongside our outgoing Bookings Co-ordinator for a period of time to ensure adequate hand-over.

Activities Manager – (£30,168 – £32,168 per annum)

Bendrigg Trust is in a key transition phase as we recover from the impact of the pandemic and the Activities Manager will play a key part in this. We are entering an exciting period of development and we are now seeking an inspirational leader to oversee the team of highly skilled and experienced tutors and to drive forwards Bendrigg’s mission.

The Activities Manager’s position is an integral part of our operations as they are instrumental in the planning and management of the activity delivery at the Centre.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who is ambitious, energetic, enthusiastic and wanting to take the next step in their career.

The post holder is directly responsible to the Centre Director.

Seasonal Tutor – (£19,208 – £23,208 per annum, pro rata)

We are looking to rebuild our staff team as we move out of the pandemic. We have a vacancy for a Seasonal Tutor starting in January 2022. The successful candidate will have previous experience at outdoor centres and have a range of NGB qualifications. Experience of working with disabled people and minibus driving will be a significant advantage.

Interviews to be held: Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th November (please note: candidates will be required to attend both days which will include activity sessions, site tour and formal interview)

Outdoor Activities Instructor Apprentice – (£768.62pcm)

Level 3 Outdoor Activity Instructor Apprentice

Monday 24th January 2022 to Friday 27th January 2023

Bendrigg is partnering up with Channel Training to provide this one year apprentice scheme. Please see:

This is a one-year scheme for people of any age wanting to gain skills, qualifications and experience working in the outdoors with people with disabilities. Apprentices will be inducted and trained to work with Bendrigg groups and will work towards the Level 3 Outdoor Activity Instructor Apprenticeship. Experience of working with disabled people and a driving licence (held for at least 12 months) will be an advantage.


Holidays: Holiday entitlement will accrue at a rate of 2½ working days per month (30 days + bank holidays per year).

Training: Channel Training, an external training provider, will provide training and support towards the Level 3 Outdoor Activity Instructor Apprenticeship. Further appropriate in-house and external training opportunities will be available through consultation with the Trainee Coordinator at Bendrigg Trust.

Subsistence: Food, drinks and refreshments are provided

Accommodation: Will be available in the trainee accommodation block if required. (£100 per month will be deducted at source for accommodation)

Trusts & Foundations Officer

Bendrigg Trust are seeking an experienced Trusts and Foundations (Fundraising) Officer on a part-time basis (2 days, 14.5 hours a week) who will have the primary responsibility of raising income from charitable trusts and foundations. This exciting role is vitally important to the organisation at this critical and challenging time.

Based near Old Hutton, Kendal, Bendrigg Trust is an outdoor education centre specialising in working with disabled and disadvantaged people. Through inclusive adventure, residential experience and social inclusion we aim to ensure disabled people are empowered with the attitudes, skills and behaviours they need to thrive.

This role seeks to develop Bendrigg’s trusts and foundations income through building on the existing strong relationships we have with trusts, and developing new ones. The Trusts and Foundations Officer will be responsible for securing core and restricted grant income for the different areas of Bendrigg’s work to ensure that outdoor adventurous opportunities are accessible to all.

The successful candidate will have experience working in the voluntary sector and the ability to successfully manage a varied workload whilst working under pressure to meet deadlines. This role would suit a self-starter who will manage a diverse portfolio of relationships to secure funding and support for Bendrigg’s work.

This is a temporary fixed term (maternity cover) contract for a period of approximately 8 months starting October 2020. Although advertised as a PAYE position, Bendrigg will consider applications from fundraisers on a freelance basis. This role location is flexible and so both home or office-based (Kendal) applications will be considered.

Senior Tutor Job Vacancy

We are happy to be looking for a Senior Tutor to take over from Nick Liley following his promotion to Principal as of 1st January 2017. We are looking for someone with a wide range of activity delivery skills and qualifications who can display effective and inspirational leadership to our tutorial team.
