Procedures are updated whenever necessary and all documents are reviewed on an annual basis. These documents are available in the Bendrigg office for viewing at any time, as they are under constant review, it is not available to download but a copy of our Risk Management Summary can be found on our “Already Booked” page. Please contact us if you require any further information.
Bendrigg Trust has public liability insurance for up to £10,000,000 and a copy of our Certificate of Liability can also be found on our “Already Booked” page. Here you will also find copies of our Safeguarding and Volunteer Policies.
Outdoor Education Licensing
Inspections are carried out on a biennial basis by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service. Our current licence to operate is number: L8732/R0314.
The Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) came into existence in April 1996. It is currently sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions. The Health and Safety Executive is currently designated as the AALA.
Adventure Activities licensing ensures that activity providers follow good safety management practices.
Bendrigg Trust is proud to be one of the first Outdoor Education Centres in the UK, to be awarded the AHOEC GOLD standard badge. This also entitles Bendrigg to display both the ‘Learning outside the Classroom’ and the ‘Adventuremark’ badges. The AHOEC GOLD standard is awarded for excellent standards of safety and quality in all areas of its provision, proving we are a leader in our field.
Consultancy & Training
Alongside our own service provisions, we also run consultancy and training services for other professionals who are looking to make their own provision more inclusive.
