The Eykyn Family – As told by Hannah’s Dad Stephen

Firstly, we just wanted to say a massive thank you to you all for creating such a warm, welcoming and disabled friendly activity centre. We as a family were so impressed and gained so much from the weekend. I have attached a couple of pictures which really embrace the joy you bring to us and our children. The most worthwhile aspect of the visit for us was trust and letting go. We have found as a family, we have been failed by so many professionals, that we have not been able to trust people. Letting go and being able to do the activities as a family with your support, has given us hope to begin the healing process that has been so raw.

We were introduced to Bendrigg by a family we knew, which helped us feel confident and secure. The group really gelled together and we were able to share experiences and support each other. We felt the course was well structured. We as a family needed the time in between activities to be able to feed, hydrate and prepare for the next activity. Everything was well explained with good humour too.

It was such a positive experience with excellent facilities. We felt so at home; the staff volunteers and trainees were inspirational and encouraging, it made us feel at ease and confident. I am so glad we know about Bendrigg and we will be letting more people aware in Warwickshire of your centre.
