We know that “accessibility” very much depends on peoples individual needs. When developing our accessible accommodation, we’ve listened to the people who really matter. That’s you, our clients!

Onsite we have 2 separate accommodation unitsBendrigg Lodge and Acorn House both have a varying degree of accessibility and aids.

When you book we will chat through your needs and requirements to make sure that the rooms allocated to you have everything you need… but to give you an idea of the set ups in each building and our other onsite facilities you can check out our guided tour & room plans below.

Bendrigg Lodge

Bendrigg Lodge building consists of a large dining room, kitchen, lounge and bedrooms sleeping up to 40 guests over 3 floors. Accessible bedrooms are available on the ground and first floors, accessed via a ramp or lift. These rooms include some ceiling-mounted hoists and profile beds.

There are also other accessible aids such as shower chairs available if needed (see list below) – please let us know as soon as possible what you need as these are allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Acorn House

Acorn house is our newest accommodation unit and was completed in 2017. It can sleep up to 24 people across 10 en-suite bedrooms. It has it’s own central lounge, kitchen and dining area, as well as a games room. 

The special features and gorgeous views overlooking the woodlands, make it a tranquil and relaxing space for our groups.

Features and Accessible Aid’s include :

  • Automatic doors & lights
  • Ceiling mounted tracking hoists running from bedrooms to bathrooms
  • Large bathrooms
  • Shower beds and chairs
  • Profile beds (with/without bed sides)

There are also other accessible aids such as Kermode shower chairs available if needed (see list below) – please let us know as soon as possible what you need as these are allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Additional Aids & Developments for the future

We are constantly looking to develop our site and accommodation to make sure things are as easy as possible and cater for people with a range of additional needs. Whether that be installing ceiling mounted tracking hoists and profile beds, or putting up black out blinds and acoustic panels.

Please let us know as soon as possible what aids you require for your trip as these are allocated on a first come first serve basis.
