Beyond Boundaries in the Outdoors
Informed by Bendrigg’s experience of delivering accessible outdoor adventure for disabled people for almost 50 years, Beyond Boundaries in the Outdoors is an engaging eLearning course created by Beyond Bendrigg in partnership with PGL Beyond.
Designed for staff and volunteers across the outdoor, leisure, tourism, education and community sectors, the course provides practical knowledge to help create more inclusive experiences for disabled people.
Whether you’re new to your role or have years of experience, you’ll build the confidence and understanding needed to make your venue, activities and events more welcoming and accessible.
By completing this training, you’ll be helping to create outdoor experiences where more people feel included and able to participate. Every course purchased supports Bendrigg’s charitable work, helping us break down barriers and make adventure accessible to all.

What you'll learn
Through six engaging modules, you’ll explore:
- Disability and neurodivergence
- Barriers to participation in the outdoors
- Inclusive communication and customer experiences
- Practical ways to make activities, venues and events more accessible
- How small changes can make a big difference to people's experiences
You’ll also hear directly from disabled people about their experiences and what makes a positive difference when accessing outdoor spaces and activities.
Flexible learning
The course is designed to fit around your work and commitments.

- Learn at your own pace
- Pause and return whenever you like
- Revisit the course as often as you need
- Certificate of completion
Using videos, interactive scenarios, quizzes and reflection activities, the course provides practical learning that can be applied immediately within your organisation.
