It is no exaggeration to say that working as a Bendrigg Tutor, you’d play a huge part in making a significant difference to people’s lives. Through this rewarding position, you’ll work alongside a highly experienced and compassionate team of outdoor professionals to deliver a range of adventure activities.
This exciting opportunity would suit outdoor professionals who are keen to broaden their horizons and regularly support a diverse range of people.
Activity Tutor
Due to an increase in our work, we have a Tutor position available, starting in May 2026. The successful candidate will likely have previous experience at another outdoor centre and will ideally hold a range of outdoor qualifications, although we would accept applications from people from other sectors with comparable experience. Experience of working with disabled people and minibus driving will be an advantage to an application.
Bendrigg Trust
Highly rewarding work: Bendrigg Trust aims to promote inclusion, encourage independence and build self-confidence through the safe provision of adventurous activities. Situated near Kendal in Cumbria, Bendrigg is an outdoor education centre specialising in working with disabled people.
Being a Tutor at Bendrigg is a fantastic opportunity to develop your personal and professional skills in the outdoor industry. No two groups are the same and the joy of working with people with different abilities, is that you are always part of finding technical solutions to enable participants to do things that they may have never done before.
Relevant Dates
Closing date for applications: Monday 16th March 2026 at 9am
Interview date: The selection process takes place over 2 days including
activity sessions (on the first day) and a site tour and
interview (on the second day). Candidates will be asked
to attend both days:
Shadowing day – either Tuesday 24th or Wednesday 25th
March 2026
Site tour and interview day – Thursday 26th March 2026
Anticipated Start date: Friday 1st May 2026 or as soon as mutually agreed.
