Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award Be Bold For Bronze!
Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award participants must complete:
– a 2 day, 1 night expedition (training required)
– 3 months volunteering
– 3 months physical activities
– 3 months skills section
– plus a further 3 months in the Volunteering, Physical or Skills sections
For each section, (volunteering, physical and skills) an average of 1 hour per week is expected.
Individuals can start working towards their bronze award from 14 years old.
Bendrigg Bronze Expedition
We currently run the training & qualifying courses for established groups with a minimum of 4 participants.
There is potential to also run training, practice and qualifying courses for Individuals looking to complete this section of their Bronze DofE but there would need to be a minimum of 4 participants for the course to go ahead.
*Changes to the Bronze DofE mean that a presentation is no longer required but a debrief with the assessor is.
The DofE are very supportive towards those with additional needs and in return this allows us to adapt expeditions to make it achievable for all.
