Activities HallActivities Hall

A large area with an extensive selection of soft play and conventional games equipment, plus the exciting and unique Bendrigg Big Swing.


Ropes CoursesRopes Courses

A combination of some accessible low level and medium level obstacles to traverse, constructed of ropes chains and poles. The challenges are graded so everyone can succeed.   


ArcheryArchery

An introduction to archery developing skills using a range of bows from children’s to adults, shooting at a choice of targets.


CampingCamping

Offering the opportunity for groups to spend a night camping out with their friends in the Bendrigg grounds in accessible tents. Off site camping can be arranged.


Rafted canoeingRafted canoeing

A safe introduction to water activities using a raft constructed from two large Open canoes and purpose-built poles and straps. This gives a very stable platform for people to access and enjoy the pleasures of being on the water in the National Parks.


Single canoesSingle canoes

A skills session presenting the chance to learn the basics of canoeing, opening the way to further develop skills.


CavingCaving

A trip to the Yorkshire Dales to explore the accessible world of the underground environment. The caves used can vary from large caverns to walk through passages, offering a unique opportunity to explore magical forbidden places.


Indoor CavingIndoor Caving

Experience the exciting world of the accessible purpose built passages under the Activity Hall. This is a great way to introduce people to an underground environment.


ClimbingClimbing

Challenge yourself at any level on our purpose-built accessible climbing wall, or get out and enjoy the local crags.


AbseilingAbseiling

Feel the excitement as you gently lower down the     free-hanging abseil in the climbing zone or descend the quarry abseil.


Social nightsSocial nights

Let your hair down, get on your glad-rags and dance the night away, or relax with a film on the big screen.


Canoeing and KayakingTube slide

Listen to the shouts of joy as people whistle down the slide, finishing with the requests for more and more again.


Tube slideLowland walking

Enjoy wheelchair accessible tracks taking in the stunning views of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.


Hill walkingHill walking

Experience the thrill of walking by waterfalls, and the splendour of the valleys and peaks of the National Parks.


Gorge walkingGorge walking

This is for the more adventurous offering the opportunity to scramble up a dry or wet stream base encompassing climbing skills.


TeepeeTepee

While away your evening sitting around a log fire in the tepee. Re-live your adventures of the day and toast marsh-mallows. It is an ideal venue for music and storytelling.


Team buildingTeam building

Working together in a stimulating and exciting environment, developing leadership and cooperation skills to successfully complete the given tasks.


SailingSailing (summer only)

Group members can participate in a large sailing dingy helping the instructors to crew the boat in a stimulating environment within the heart of the Lake District.


KayakingKayaking (summer only)

A skills session using single or double seat kayaks. Introductory sessions take place on sheltered waters to inspire further participation.


Zip wireZip wire

Experience the exhilaration of flying through the air along a wire whilst attached to a safety harness.

If an alternative to the activities is required then visits can be arranged to attractions within the National Parks.


Orienteering and treasure huntsOrienteering and treasure hunts

An activity to gently develop your map reading skills whilst having fun finding markers or hidden treasure. We have a variety of courses so everyone can join in.
