Bendrigg - Aiming High Field
Aiming High field

We are in the process of reclaiming the field on the Eastern side of our grounds and have renamed it the 'Aiming High Field'. We have built a track around the field suitable for wheelchair and bikes. A number of bikes, trikes and carts have been purchased with several generous grants we have received during the past year.
In addition to enhancing the on-site facilities for our residential groups; the improvements to this field will enable families from our local community, who have children with a disability, to visit Bendrigg on a daily basis and enjoy activities in complete safety in this wonderful location.
Family membership is now available and will give visitors to the Aiming High Field access to all of the equipment stored in the new shed at any time. We have also made significant improvement to the track leading down to the field from the road. There is parking down on the site, to the left after crossing the cattle grid, and also a wheelchair-accessible toilet adjacent to this parking area.

More grants will be applied for during 2012 to complete the reclamation of the field, construct more bike trails and to purchase some playground equipment suitable for young people with a disability.

Our new tee-pee situated at the northern end of the field can be hired for parties and special occasions.
