Bendrigg Trust
Residential outdoor activity centre for disabled and disadvantaged people
Bendrigg - Introduction
In the grounds

The Bendrigg Trust is a residential activity centre specialising in high quality courses for disabled and disadvantaged people, of any age or ability.  It is situated in idyllic countryside, 7 miles southeast of Kendal, nestled between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.  The aim of the Trust is to promote integration, encourage independence and build self-confidence through the use of residential experience and the safe provision of adventurous outdoor activities.

Since Bendrigg was established in 1978, literally thousands of disabled and disadvantaged people have discovered the ‘Bendrigg Experience’.  Each individually designed course is supervised by dedicated, experienced and qualified staff who provide safe, versatile, high-quality adventure courses.

Within our 15 acre grounds we can provide various activities; these include an aerial runway, a floodlit challenge course, tube slide and a range of orienteering courses.  Also in the Kinross Building we have a state of-the-art sensory room, indoor caving system, sports hall and our impressive indoor climbing wall.  Beyond this, the surrounding area offers a wealth of natural beauty and further opportunities for caving, canoeing, hill walking, gorge walking and sailing.
